Beetlejuice, also known as Betelgeuse, is a bio-exorcist ghost character originating from the 1988 horror comedy film Beetlejuice, directed by Tim Burton. He is portrayed as a mischievous and crude spirit who offers his services to rid homes of unwanted living residents.
In the film, Beetlejuice is summoned by the recently deceased Adam and Barbara Maitland to scare away the Deetz family, who have moved into their former home. His attempts at "bio-exorcism" are often chaotic and destructive, leading to comedic and bizarre situations. Michael Keaton portrayed the character in the film.
